Fines and Fees.
Fees: are charges or tolls for public services or places. Fines are penalties paid for non-compliance with assembly by-laws and directives.
Property Rate
A rate imposed on immovable property at a specified rate on the rateable value of a property. The amount varies between specified areas of a district and in respect of property use for different purposes (Commercial, Residential or Mixed use) and area classifications (1st Class, 2nd Class, 3rd Class. Property rate is an annual rate.
Ground Rent.
Tax paid on revenues received from activities such as natural resource exploitation, for examples stool lands, building permits, royalties, concessions and cemetery fees.
Business Operating Permit
Levies on businesses operating in the local government jurisdiction. The range of items depends on the extent of economic activity sophistication within a district
Rent
Charges for use of MMDA owned assets, e.g. residential accommodation, market stores and stalls, classrooms, lorry parks and billboards.
Investment
Tax paid on revenue made from interests, dividends and properties acquired by the MMDA for hiring purposes.
